Llewelyn Curlewis, one of the newly appointed vice-presidents of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces, was recently named the University of Pretoria’s Male Road Athlete of the Year for 2011.
Mr Curlewis received Honorary Colours for Sport at the awards ceremony late last year. Other winners included Caster Semenya and Oscar Pistorius.
Since starting his running career 22 years ago, Mr Curlewis has successfully completed more than 250 marathons, including 18 Comrades Marathons, and has received more than 2 500 medals in various races.
