In February, members of the LSSA’s Immigration and Refugee Law Committee met representatives from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) to discuss –
- training as part of the anticipated continuing professional development (CPD) programme and possible accreditation for such training;
- the interface between the organised legal profession and SAQA on the evaluation of qualifications for immigration purposes and the streamlining of the process; and
- ideas regarding further professional accreditation in immigration, nationality and refugee law as a specialist field of practice.
