On, 24 August 2024, the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) held a Women’s Month High Tea in Centurion. The aim of the event was to impart mental wellness knowledge and offer an opportunity to network. LSSA President, Joanne Anthony-Gooden presented the key note address and focussed her speech on female legal practitioners working together, she noted: ‘Our celebration today is not just about recognising the achievements of individual women, but also about acknowledging the collective strength and solidarity that have fuelled progress in the legal field. From the pioneers who first entered this profession to the trailblazers of today, as women legal practitioners we have shown that determination, integrity, and passion can overcome any obstacle.’ (A full report of the event will be published in the next issue of De Rebus.)
