This year’s National Wills Week will be held from 16 to 20 September.  Participating attorneys will be provided with free posters to publicise the firm’s participation and provision has been made on the poster for the firm’s contact details to be added.

The deadline for attorneys wishing to participate in this year’s National Wills Week is 28 June. Online registration can be done on the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) website.

The aim of the Wills Week campaign is twofold –

  • to position attorneys as the premier providers of Wills and estates services to the public, and to improve the image of the profession generally; and
  • to encourage members of the public who would not normally make use of the services of an attorney, or who may hesitate to approach an attorney, to consult an attorney to have a basic Will drafted.

The Department of Justice, in conjunction with the LSSA, will be visiting rural areas to promote Wills Week. The LSSA will engage with attorneys to encourage them to join the community sessions and service desks mainly taking place in the rural areas.

Contact the LSSA at (012) 366 8800 or e-mail LSSA@LSSA.org.za for more information.
