The Black Lawyers Association’s (BLA) Limpopo Branch in collaboration with the South African Women Lawyers Association’s (SAWLA) Limpopo Branch held a rules book donation drive campaign in Limpopo on 5 September 2024. The two organisations collected magistrate’s court and High Court rules books from various donors. Chairperson of the BLA Limpopo Branch, CJ Ntsoane, said the purpose of the book drive was to collect these rule books for students at the law schools in Limpopo. He pointed out that this came after the students complained that the material they had was outdated and some of the pages were even missing from the material. Mr Ntsoane pointed out that the two organisations plan to do a book drive every year, looking at which books are in demand, so that they can get them and donate the books to the law schools. He further stated that this initiative aligned with the theme of the current National Executive Committee of the BLA, titled ‘Re-Imagined, Re-Asserted and Re-Imaged,’ for the benefit of members and society.
